Annie Bousfield

"Painting is my passion," says Annie Bousfield, who lives in Easingwold, North Yorkshire. "I embraced this love of painting along with my past careers in nursing and podiatry, and now I’m lucky enough to be able to dedicate much more time to it. For inspiration I attend courses and workshops, and I walk as I much as I can in our beautiful countryside."

Annie's paintings are sold online and in galleries and shops. She also understakes commissioned work and produces prints, greetings cards and other works from her original paintings. The subjects she paints are varied, but are mainly semi-abstract landscapes. Most of the frames she uses for her work are hand-made in wood by Annie's husband, John.

"My biggest passion is being out in the countryside, right in the middle of it all," says Annie. "My colourful textured painting is in some ways just what I 'bring home.' We aren't on this planet for long, so let's do something that makes us happy."

Judy Flanagan

Working from her home studio in Hornsea, Judy Flanagan finds constant inspiration in the changing seasons and the natural world. "From the soft light of spring to the vibrant energy of new growth, nature's rhythms shape my work," says Judy. "I am drawn to the way light, weather, and time transform landscapes, florals, and organic textures - creating fleeting moments that spark emotion and memory." Judy's paintings are "not exact representations but expressions of these shifts in mood, colour, and atmosphere."

Whether exploring the Yorkshire coast or travelling to discover new landscapes, she seeks to "capture the essence of a place, the way it feels, not just how it looks." Shades of Spring reflects this connection, celebrating nature's renewal and the quiet beauty of transition.
