Rob Moore
Rob Moore is a country person at heart and never happier than when walking in woods, mountains or by rivers. This is where, in recent years, his inspiration for painting and printmaking has its roots.
Rob makes drawings in the landscape in his sketchbooks and over the years has established a wealth of observed and felt imagery that is often referred to when making paintings in the studio. Coupled with a memory of places and concerns and observations about the effects of climate change, this drives Rob to make work that is beautifully crafted, often abstracted, always unique, and suggestive rather than descriptive.
Rob has had a long standing relationship with Gallery Forty-Nine as one of his regular spaces to show his work. His paintings and prints inhabit many domestic and public walls across the UK and are popular particularly in the Northern Region where he has chosen to live and paint.
Wendy Tate
Wendy Tate is a romantic at heart. She loves the drama of dark skies, the awe of towering tree canopies, contrasted with rich and complex reflections. The evocation of a mood or a story, a stillness in the soul. She loves the colours, the textures, the changes. This is played out in her work from moody sea and landscapes, intricate reflections, and huge skies, to the delicate overlay of the flora and fauna that she collects on her wonderings that appear in her handmade books and mono-prints.
Wendy enjoys sketching outside but most of her work is derived from the many photographs and drawings made on her walks. For her, creating is a sincere act of worship.
